At the election held during the 17th AAHRMEI National Annual Convention Last December 1-3, 2017, Dr. Gloria Baken Wong-Siy got elected as President of AAHRMEI. It can be recalled that Dr. Siy had held this position for the interim period of 10 months, then for four years or 2 terms. In her desire to give others the chance to lead, she inhibited herself from running in the past 2 terms but kept herself actively involved in all the plans and activities of the organization as the Founder.
She looks forward to continuing the vision-mission that AAHRMEI stands for and carry on some of the plans and activities left by the immediate past president, Dr. Ignacio C. Cordova, Jr. Plans for 2018 will be laid out during the coming Board Meeting. Her sincere concern for the benefit and professional growth of all AAHRMEI members and prospective members is first and foremost in her mind. She believes that with the cooperation of the other Board Members / officers, and with the kind guidance of her mentors, AAHRMEI’s existence and services will be felt.
It can be noted that from a mere 23 members when AAHRMEI was organized, the number of members has now grown to more than 2,000.
